It depends on many things. You better provide us with some conditions or a technical task.

A ā€œone size fits allā€ outfit never fits as well as a custom tailored suit. In this case, Wordpress is the ā€œone size fits allā€ solution. You can customize it a lot, but to be able to do so to the extent of designing the site exactly as desired isnā€™t possible, but you can get close with child themes, which must still be coded. You can technically make websites without any coding knowledge, but if you choose to, Iā€™d recommend finding an amazing host that will help you when you run into trouble...because you will. Just keep in mind code bloat that accompanies using a pre-made site versus coding only the features you actually need.

It will depend on what you want to accomplish and what direction you want to go with your skills. If u are planning on doing coding, web dev or design.... atleast 30% of small businesses are using Wordpress now. For marketability, the more skills you have the better. In my own example, I am working on learning the skills needed to build frontend and backend websites from scratch for full stack development. However I also plan to focus and specialize in wordpress developement. I want to be flexible and versitile in what I can offer clientele. I have been told, no matter what you choose to do in the tech industry, design or code.... absolutely learn the fundamentals and build a strong foundation first! Hope that helps.
