ok, so I did a research and I discovered that, despite being able to use both in some situations, they're quite different: absolute positioning takes the element out of the web flow, allowing it to clip into other objects. Flow property, in the other hand, allows block elements to behave like in-line elements, side-by-side/parallel. Just detailing so I can answer if anyone has the same doubt. :-)
