it depends upon the point of view you have ...
just like mark....and elon musk have different point of views .... one of them is with artificial intelligence and the other is sort of against it ...at least in some ways ...(AI's interference in military)
the rise of artificial intelligence in the near future is like a coin with two entirely different aspects....
if it comes ...it will be very helpful for mankind and on the other hand if it comes in the hand of some sort of evil person or something like that it can doom us ...as we truly never know how good or gruesome it's effects would be ...moreover Elon musk states that if it comes in military and army it can be a huge gramble ...(after watching Terminator series) even Steven Hawking also warns us about the potential cons of rise of artificial intelligence....also philosophers ...data scientists ...scientists too say that it will be a huge risk for jobs both on the other hand ... it can do jobs in which humans are not perfect in a more precise and efficient way..

Did you post question after watching science friction movies? Future generation like what 50 yrs from now or 1000 years..thats vague. Currently AI is very helpful in the medical and engineering sectors. computers are capable of processing large number of data but when they need to decide even simple thing like is this circle or rectangle they simply can't..for this they need to be repeatively given pattern and fed with inputs that this type of pattern is circle and this type is rectangle. most AI programs today are like that..they are developed using large number of data and this vast network builds neural network in AI and that helps in deciding for the computer like our brains do. I am also just begineer in learning AI and my English is bad. Currently it is the most hot topics and many developers are pursuing it. What is the limit of the AI is yet to be discovered. Is it good or bad for future ? ..It is good unless they reprogrammed themselves and dominate us like in Si-Fi movies :P :) :D
