I am currently in the "training" process of CyberSecurity. Didn't go to college. It's about securing the Splunk servers. It's easy and complex at the same time. Javascript is used here, but I am not familiar with that. I only work with Python and Java and a lil bit of SQL. Making my own ways.

@TATO Yes I am a self learner. Internet is full of amazing resources. For cyber security, you should start from networks, ports, ip's, mac addresses etc. And then use Kali Linux to test your own networks, routers, computers for vulnerabilities. First try to hack them. Then try to secure them from those attacks. This way, you'll begin a great journey towards cyber security. And knowing programming helps a lot. Good luck.

@Hamza Rana, your knowledge is a valuable asset, it's inspiring to know someone could get it through self learning, I would bet people will be interested if you consider to write and share some of it, you seem like a white hat, I surely hope you are, it's good to have one among us here :) A little about this "training", is it a job to be (apprenticeship) or what? also I have seen the rise of demand for certified expertise on this matter, what would you say about that?

Thanks for the compliments. The training I am getting is about Splunk. It about Big Data. You too can get the training on Splunk's webaite. You'll learn all about Splunk, and then securing its servers etc. I don't know if they provide internships or not, as I work remotely. Google it and you might find something that helps.

A good friend of mine works in the industry as well as teaches and writes books on the subject. He recommends Security+Training.

@Hamza Rana, well I'll just go look it up now, don't know a thing about it though, I like the idea of working remotely, sounds good, thanks for the notes :)
