<marquee>

While going through an HTML tutorials book,I came across the <marquee> element. Funnily when I tried it out in html5, I got an error. I'm using netBeans software. I was keen to look out for the element through out my JavaScript course which I completed some few days ago but I never saw it. Can I instead use the transformation property in CSS3 since it seems like the <marquee> element is outdated?

I think its possible since the transorm property allows the movement of texts on the screen at set intervals just like <marquee> would
