Y do people hate jquery so much?

Because some「purists」hate easy things, in the other side i have to admit that Js is definitely faster than any other library such as jQuery, it is a matter of PRO and CONS, make your choice!

Most of the simple webpages, load jQuery libs to perform some simple task. Why need to load all the jQuery functions just to perform a simple task, whereas Javascript itself could do the job with faster performance?
If you know Javascript well, you would not need jQuery. :)
