To build an eCommerce site you need to provide a solution that includes different methodologies, tools as well as computing languages.
There is not a job of a single language to maintain the correct flow of information and security of the database.
Also, you should select the right database management system according to the expected volume of infomation, quantity of transactions per minute, etc.

You can try wordpress. It's an out of the box CMS where you can drag and drop whilst using pkugins to build your website.
You can run a local server and view some e-commerce websites built in Wordpress. Take a look at my repos in GitHub.
