Confusion about how to find out the username of the BTS promotion winner.

The rules of the promotion say that if someone wants to find out the name of the BTS promotion winner they have to send a snail mail request after 30 days from the conclusion of the promotion but that the request also can't be received any later than a month after conclusion of the promotion!?

++༒«ᵛ ⁱ ⁿ ᵃ ʸ ᵃ ᵏ»༒++ many can become Pro members for a month if you provide a credit card number or equivalent, so it's not a scam.

Janning⭐ oh thanks, I completely missed point 1:TIMING. Does it then mean that the winners will be publicly announced after all? In that case, I fail to see the need for a letter.

Thanks Janning⭐ . I have rarely visited that blog before. Seems to have some interesting articles.

10. WINNER’S NAME: To obtain the name of the Winner, any person may mail a self-addressed, stamped envelope after 30 days from the conclusion of the Promotion to 4 Embarcadero Center, Suite 1455 San Francisco, CA 94111. Attn: Winner’s Name - Back To School Challenge. Requests must be received no later than one (1) month after the conclusion of the Promotion.

Is Sololearn making it virtually impossible for a third party to find out the winner's name?

++༒«ᵛ ⁱ ⁿ ᵃ ʸ ᵃ ᵏ»༒++ it's just the winner of the physical prizes that they're talking about here I think.

Janning⭐ thanks for the response. My question was mainly this: If the winner of the physical prize (Apple watch or whatever it was) was Sololearner A, the BTS promotion ended on day T and Sololearner B wanted to find out who the winner was, B has to post a letter on day T + 30 at the earliest requesting this. If the letter took a week to get delivered, it will be received on day T + 37. However, the rules seem to suggest that the letter cannot be received after day T + 31 at the latest for B to find out the name of A. Am I misinterpreting something here, because to me it seems virtually impossible to satisfy that condition unless the international (in the most general case) delivery of the letter takes one day or less, which seems highly unlikely in the current climate.

THANGARAJU SIBIRAJ Thanks, but context is important. If you copy & paste without scrolling up to see that the link to this info was already included, it just makes your comments seem spammy.

Just made this question because so many users seem to want to find out the winners when there is not going to be a public announcement about this.

🤔 Seems like a self-answer, but maybe the implied question is "why does it take so long?" or "why don't they just announce it?" To the first question, I would guess that they have to provide time for the ones who initially won to respond and accept the prizes, otherwise, they have to move on and find others who will. They have to double check that these winners are qualified (like maybe it turns out they're not old enough or something or they run into some complication with the laws of that country). It also gives SL some time to collect on their "first dibs" so to speak as far as constructing the various marketing materials they might want to milk from capturing images and quotes from the winners. I don't have an answer for the second one. They might eventually announce or not, but this makes it so they are not obligated to announce. US* law still requires they make the names available though to those who specifically inquire (snail mail is how we do legal correspondence). * Edit: Some US states' [...].

Yeah, point taken. Gotta drop your letter off at a nearby post office the morning of October 31st, I suppose (a Saturday). It also says under "1: TIMING": "The Winners (as defined below) of the entry will be announced on the SoloLearn website at https://www.sololearn.com/ on or about October 1 2020 11:59:59 pm, PDT. SoloLearn’s computer clock shall be the official clock of the Promotion and PDT shall control for all purposes of the Promotion." which I haven't been able to find any trace of. 😅 What I did find though was that their corporate address changed, so maybe they really are trying to make it impossible to get snail mail. 🤣

Good question. I would imagine that they should've posted somewhere on the site already by now... and to me if not on the main site as described in their terms, then at least somewhere that would make sense like https://www.sololearn.com/Blog under Company News but haven't seen anything yet. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♂️

Nasif Rahman that would have made it too long. I really dislike reading/writing long answers.

LoL now I don't care about who wins it. 😐 No use. Wait. Does this mean, there are no winners?! Was tis all a scam?! Just to get downloads from PlayStore, and making a couple of the participants pro members?! Now I won't care about it at all😑😑

Nasif Rahman great! Thanks for the link.

And my final thoughts: 😢😥 Boohooo I'm not one of the winners 😢😢😥😥😫😫...but I worked so darn hard for it, boo hooo....
