Wanna make a medium-complex game that can last for years? Do C++. A simple-medium, possibly 2D game just for you and friends? Do python. A simple-medium open source web game that you can put on your blog probably? Do HTML-CSS-JavaScript. There is no one answer here. Actually, from my own personal experience, the more you like playing a certain computer game, probably the less you would like making it.
