Why codes of some people always come at first while some user's code never get to top? Why is it so ? Why this difference is their in sequence of codes even though their may not be any difference in level of code.
🅰🅹 - ɪ'ᴍ ᴄʀɪᴍɪɴᴀʟʟʏ ɢᴏᴏᴅ! I think sololearn should create a optional code review section that is where viewers can express themselves about the code like:
+ is it copied [checkbox, mention source]
+ Errors (mention)
+ Rate UI/UX ★★★★★ ....
And can restrict this for new comers so there may not be much miss use of this feature.
🅰🅹 - ɪ'ᴍ ᴄʀɪᴍɪɴᴀʟʟʏ ɢᴏᴏᴅ! But there is a fault in likes system , see this who have friends here there new codes gets more votes quickly than the one who's new , while new users can't compete this , they can only through code
Abhi Good Idea. Sololearn can have rating system. But I think only likes is enough not viewer because people just see and don't like to like the code which code get more likes not viewer that code should be on Hot Today.
Abhi followers and friends doesn't matter even I have 5.1k it doesn't mean my codes get more upvotes. As 🅰🅹 - ɪ'ᴍ ᴄʀɪᴍɪɴᴀʟʟʏ ɢᴏᴏᴅ! said sololearn have it's own format upvotes and views based on that code will be on top. One important thing I wanted to clear most users think huge
followers and because of friends they will get more upvotes or their code get in top this is completely wrong thing. Most of the times new members code got more upvotes even though their followers is less. I hope my answer is valid to your question.
Level of code does not matter. Matters only likes and number of viewer. Sololearn sort the list of code on these two factor. Who has more likes and comments their codes comes on top.
First they prefer likes then viewer like this.
1- more likes and more viewer
2- more likes and less viewer
3- less likes and more viewer
Taste followers and comments doesn't affect on Hot Today Codes. I have approx 6k followers but get only few likes.
There is no parameter to check quality of code. There is only these things can decide like viewer and likes.
Abhi This is not fault. It happens everywhere. So I don't think it's a fault in likes system. Rating and likes both are same things if you analyize it. We can have dislike option but It's a learning platform and we are friends here so we can't have it.
its just how this works. more rep = more folowers, more folowers = more views and comment, more views = more likes.
likes + comment + view = higher position in code playground.
there are some exception though, like the quality for the code, which make other learners give more exposure to it.
what i really mean is, your code can get higher initial exposure with more follower. just like a jumpstart.
your active follower mostly the very first people who notice your code when its posted. with more follower more people notice your code, lest say 5-15 people drop a like or comment. your code most likely appear on hot today around the bottom part.
from here other people who are not your follower can found your code. and depend on the code itself they might give more likes and raise the position up, and its abit more easier to find.
