Without libraries

How is a basic input/output library written. For example, if there was no stdio.h library for printing texts in C, how would someone write texts as output. Will I have to use Windows API to do such things?

Is Windows API not a Library? Without Library or API, you need to go to the assembly language. Use the instructions to output the data and read the data from standard input/output.

Théophile I didn't said exactly how to do it. If Windows API can do that (print or read) then so you can. You will either need to enter the dos mode or write a ring0 code. OS is ultimately processing the CPU instruction for doing things.

~ swim ~ Thing that you cannot do on Windows, because systems interrupts can't be used directly.
