Both Java and Kotlin can be used to develop Android apps. Choosing either Kotlin or Java to start off your learning journey will provide you with a foundation which enables you to easily pick up other languages, so it really doesn't matter. Kotlin is my favorite language and I dislike Java. I'm slowly learning Android with Kotlin. However, at this time, you will find Java an easier path because most examples are in Java.
D_Stark I was coding classes prior to having them available in C with Classes (aka C++). C++ and Kotlin both fit beautifully with my class usage. I constantly found myself fighting Java's classes.
On Sololearn, the Java tutorial is more standard and established than the Kotlin tutorial.
