I use the Processing IDE to create graphical applets and export them as executables. the tools and libraries available make the tasks easier. Usually I make stuff yhat takes care of boring repetitive tasks to increase my free time. And if I want them on Mobile there is an option to build and export apk for Android. www.processing.org
