Between html4 and html5, which is the most supported version of html in most browsers? (am new to html)

HTML4.01 is probably the most widely supported but don't worry about it and just use HTML5. Any modern device can handle the new HTML standard and if you are one of five people still browsing the internet on a Nintendo DS then no website will work anyway.

Thanks Schindlabua for that and more over I think all browsers will be adjusted to support html5 in the near future

html 4 due to the slow acceptance of 5 as well as the slow updating to be able support it
