I'm 15 years old and I love coding, I want to know if coding is for all ages
I'm afraid that I cannot complete coding or get bored from it
As I have some problems with some codes especially that math-related codes
And I'm also afraid that coding is not for my age
I would really appreciate if someone answered me.
I'm 30 now and have been coding since I was around 13-ish? You can definitely learn at that age, but you have to be able to dedicate yourself to it.
For me, I always loved playing games like Super Mario World, so when I was a kiddo I decided I wanted to make games. Started way back in the day with Visual Basic 4 and DirectX 7. Like you, my biggest problem was the math aspect. It can be hard to understand a lot of it, I totally get it, but I found that the more I learned about programming, the more I wanted to learn about math. It was no longer a cryptic series of letters, numbers, and symbols, but a tool I could use to make my projects faster and more polished.
As you learn more and more, things start to click together and it makes much more sense. You just have to build your foundations, and the rest will follow. Good luck! c:
IMHO about maths, it depends on what type of program you be writing. If you do 3D animation by code you'll most likely be using loads of maths (at least so I heard). Also perhaps if you write program that demands a lot of algorithm efficiency optimisation, or program that calculates things very precisely.
Apart from that, general maths will do you just fine, just don't get yourself discouraged, one can still contribute to solving problems even without being a math savvy, although scientists may debate this : )
To evade boredom, you can put a bookmark on the "book" you're currently reading, and look around to find a problem to solve, and actually start planning your solution, with or without code. Remember code is a tool, solution doesn't necessarily be code based : )
Enjoy coding 👍
Dude... I'm 14 and half years old😊
I started coding when I was ten years old... And though I had to work hard to continue it alongside my studies and some people around me gave me the 🙄 face, coding has been a best friend ever since...And don't worry about age, kids like us can actually grasp new things quicker than grown ups...so Coding might be just the thing for us...
About getting bored... I get bored a lot too... I suggest that when you're bored, take a nap or listen to your favorite music... Or do something else for a while... It'll set up your mood again...
In the meantime, do a lot of coding... If you love programming, your programs will love you back, and THAT'S saying something...
Happy Coding 🙂🙂
I think your question is good, as I believe many people right now be interested in learning how to code, and probably be wondering the same question. Though, we can still add extra scope following the question:
- Is coding for all *to learn*?
- Is coding for all *as a career*?
- Is coding for all *or just for math savvy*?
As a thing to learn - don't worry, there's no limit to learning, age most likely doesn't matter (much).
As a career, there are more considerations, of course hiring companies consider age and skill levels, apart from educational background.
* To be continued ...
some day you will be bored of coding
and you will hate the math u need...
and you will see no sense in it all...
and u will feel u are too young or old or gay or lesbian or red-haired or black-haired...... to code.
All the nightmares u described above will come true sooner or later.
It happened to most... maybe all of that guys here😉😉
Hi, I'm 14 and I started coding in Java when I was 8. Coding has always been an awesome thing for me, since I could do such cool things with it, and nobody else at my school knew how to code.
When I was around 10, I had already made text games and visual games and I had experimented with JFrames, and AWT. After achieving all of this, I started to learn Python, which at first I used on a Raspberry Pi 2b.
I have now made numerous minimal operating systems, many different programming languages, including a slightly edited Befunge-98 interpreter, and a binary language, and much more. You get the point, coding is definitely for me, and it always has been.
Now, I have a 7 year old brother (turning 8 this year), and last year I started to teach him the very basics of Python. He understood it at first, but the level of code he could understand was very basic. He only knows the print statement right now, and he can't understand why sometimes you can use a string in it and sometimes you can use a different data type.
From comparing me at 8 years old making text games to my brother at 7 not improving at all, you can at least see the difference. You may be thinking "well duh, he's younger than you", but from thw way my brother acts when I try to teach him, I dont think he will improve any time soon.
I think the age is not as important as it is to have an interest in coding, because I had a strong interest in it and I was 8, whereas my brother started to show that he had much less interest.
I hope you enjoy this post, it's my first one! 😄
As long as you are mentailly ready, yes!
Also, please make sure to search questions first!
Heyy ,hii there.Coding is an art..that relates with your problems solving skills and logical thinking, thinking out of the box🙄...If u wanna code just do it.NO NEED OF AGE.So,I recommend you to be good on maths and u did it..CODING IS EASY BUT DIFFICULT TO MASTER.
why not ...
anyone can code ...
whenever u feel bored try talking with ppl ...
and this community is really amazing i can bet u will like this community if u get involve in this ...
maths isnt actually thats essential for coding i can say
but knowledge of math is always great for doing anything..
Hello Adette. Per my understanding, the answer is YES. I am 25 and work as a marketing manager. Coding has solve a lot of problems in my life as our lives are surrounded by computers, phones, and even appliances with IOT functions. We can use codes to control them professionally. It happens when you feel upset about coding. When you are faced with difficulties, just take a break but don’t give up.
Afcourse coding is for everyone!Yes coding is for all ages for an example i turned 11 a few monthes ago and i love coding so i study hard and try my best so just don't worry, because after some time you'll start understanding things better! And again a lot of people said that: "age is just a number and it doeasn't matter".I tottaly agree with that.Just don't forget that you can't stop beliving and trying you're best
