No, they aren't at all similar, they are totally different... Even they share some syntax concepts ( like the semi-colon or curly brackets instructions or blocks delimiters ). However, JS is script, Java is semi compiled, JS is for client side web essentially, while java is ponctually... JavaScript and Java are false friends. They have only similar names in reality!
