I think you should take school more seriously over coding. 1) School is what matters more in your stage of life. If you start doing bad, maybe universities you want to go to wont take you. 2) You should code less. Since you dont really need coding to live right now (pay bills or something), dont spend too much time on it where it affects whats more important. 3) Being a topper is great for the future! You can get so many things such as free schooling, scholarships, sponsors, etc. If you start going down, someone else will take it from you. 4) You will have time for coding later in life, but this school year is only 1 year and it will end. Once it ends, there is no going back... In conclusion, dont give up if its your passion, but focus on school first before coding ;) Work before play as its said

School is important, it will shape your future. You can treat coding as your hobby now. By managing perfect time table you can do both.. Becsuse It based on my real experience, I started to study and exploring about coding and programming always. and it affected my studies also .. But by my perfect time management, my study is at good pace now 😂👍

The same happened to me!😞 But I prefer study to coding, but that doesn't mean that you should stop coding. I study during the whole day but before sleeping, I gave half-hour for coding...This satisfies both!😉

Education is one of the most important things you can obtain in this grand illusion we've created for the world. Your problem isn't that you're not studying or not coding, but that you're not giving balance to your life and the full contents of your life. Get what I'm saying? You have responsibilities, such as studying/going to school, so you want to find balance between your responsibilities right now and everything else in your life. This is where proper time management comes into play, and by doing so, you can allocate time toward all of the above. So handle your studies first and foremost, because your main responsibility right now is getting school done, and when you're done with studying/homework then work on your programming skills. Don't spend time being distracted by things that DONT matter to your life or future. For example, if you spend time on your phone, youtube, facebook, with friends, etc... then you're wasting a lot of time on things that don't matter now, and certainly won't matter later, instead of putting that toward your dreams/goals you're wanting to achieve. Trust me on this, find balance in your life or all of the other areas not getting attention will be neglect and cause you problems. For myself, I had some relationship issues because I spent more of my time/effort/energy on my profession instead of balancing it out and giving enough time/effort/energy to my family also. At the end of our days, what is going to truly matter about our experience of life? Is it the money we acquired but can't take with us? The things? The people? The experiences? Only you can answer that for yourself. It's better to figure out what you truly love prior to losing it, then you can make the most with the time and energy you have each day. Best of luck to you! Stay focused and get rid of your unnecessary distractions! If you don't create YOUR dream, you'll spend your life creating SOMEONE ELSES dream for them.

I'm going to go against the herd here and say NOT to sacrifice your passions for school. If coding is for you, keep at it. Yes, work hard in school, but don't let it get in the way of what truly makes you happy. You don't need perfect grades to do well in life, but having a marketable skill such as coding is extremely important in this tight economy.

As for me:. I am also a student:: 1. Do school works before you start coding 2. Focus on your study. Switch off your phone when you are studying 3. You should code in leisure time not full time😉

Both just being able to code won't bring you far and dropping out of school won't really help you either

They cant force you to stop programming nor should that be consider a reason. Its like taking math and saying that math equations are to blame and coding does use math. The issue here seems to be a balance between study and other activities. What is your major? If its not IT you can still code but the focus is academics first. The problem with schools is that they have a tendency to stigma technology as the "root cause" of bad grades, behavior, etc when its a tool. Discouraging someone from coding like this is not solution. There needs to be action plan solution. Also although h.s. isnt as important grades still do matter and if u do well u can receive college credits. Basically h.s. grades and activities increase ur chances of getting into a college u want instead of joes or none at all. Its when ur actually in college that the grades matter as future jobs are connected. Thats y for h.s. they want to see proof of graduation and not grades. BUT good habits start early.

I don't believe in forcing kids to stop doing things, unless they are dangerous or illegal. How far through school are you? What are your passions? Do you know where you would like your career to go (some kids know early). Sure it might be more difficult to get your first job if you don't get top marks, but doing subjects just to get high marks is ridiculous. I did well at High School but didn't do things like Chemistry or Physics so my University entry score was affected which is madness as thise subjects had no place in the Uni course I wanted to do.

Never Give Up First I want to ask, are you a computer science student? 1. Yes then spare time for school. 2. No then spare time for school. Secondly, would you pick computer science (Software Developer) as your profession? 1. Yes then focus on the coding and also spare time for school because school certificate and the knowledge you are going to learn is also important. 2. No then stop coding and focus on the school. I hope it makes sense.
