I want to know how can I verify or validate the subjects in drag and drop code (js and php) for my time table.

I'm working on a project but I've encountered and part where I need to prove the validation of the subjects for the school,
so that whenever I try allocating a certain subject in a slot which is already occupied it should inform me.
