Is it imperative I do Eclipse rather than another software?..

I am trying to learn code and super new to all this.. My friend recommended Eclipse and came to the point in the Java lesson telling me to download and install Eclipse, looking in the comment section, many people recommend other IDE's for beginners, which I then took a peek at online.. Like IntelliJ IDEA which the system looks SOOOO much better and cleaner, so I was thinking switching to that since Im still extremely fresh and nubby to all this.. Will using another IDE cause conflict during the lessons ahead?.. Or will this not cause any roadblocks? or what do you recommend for a nub like myself trying to learn as quickly and efficiently as possible?.. Overall confused I know lol but please someone help!

An IDE is simply an environment with code-completion, debugger and other basic tools to help you write your codes efficiently. Java codes work the same no matter which IDE you use, as long as you have no problems installing and utilising the software. IIRC, the rest of the tutorial isn't much dependant on Eclipse, so you don't have to worry about tutorial instructions not tallying with what you have.
