Why does the open and closed head go right next to each other?

That is merely the template - if you have something to put inside, then they would not be together, however, for an html document to be valid, you must put <head> </head> (even if it's blank) for the document to be valid. Check this out: <head><title>SoloLearn</title></head> Does that clear it up for you? 😊
