I don't think so because assembly language works differently for nearly every OS, CPU architecture etc. Your knowledge in assembly language can be (more or less) completely useless as soon as you try to develop code for a different platform. At least you'll have to "relearn" a lot

While the assembly language itself is very similar on every desktop, the APIs that allow the developer to do things like print text to the screen are completely different.
