What languages should I focus on?

I'm looking to to make a text based multiplayer browser game. I got the certificate for Html and Javascript but I need practice actually writing code befor it sticks in my head. CSS seems like I'll have to do that one too but is it C++ more what I'm looking for? I used visual basic in school...years ago. So something similar to that would be nice.

Since it's a text based multi-player browser game. It's best you focus on JavaScript and html. You can't use c++ in web development.
