How to create Live Search Using Ajax

how can i create a live search using Ajax and JavaScript rather using JQuery .... i need to upload video to server and the file name to the database table ...... when i enter the file name in search box it need to search and play the video in the same page .... same like YouTube search and playing video ...help me out
