Well, you can learn basics of some programming languages here, on SoloLearn. If you want to dive deeper into that language, I suggest going to sites specialized for the language you want to learn. My advice to you is to start learning here, and when you complete the course of language you want to learn, go to a site made just for that language.

CodeCademy is great for Web Development. I learned JavaScript (my first language) on there. There is, also, a website called tutorialspoint.com It has tutorials on a lot of languages including c++ and Assembly. It also has several online IDEs. It depends on what language you are choosing to start with. JavaScript is very easy to understand and can give you applicable knowledge of programming. So, I would suggest CodeCademy. (TutorialsPoint can be slow at times.

You can learn many things on sololearn. The best part about sololearn is that you can learn languages in a very less time. There are other sites also like Udacity where you'll find many courses on different languages, there is FreeCodeCamp where you can learn web development(full stack) with live projects, you can find many courses on edx and coursera. There is a site tutorialspoint.com where you'll find the biggest archive of languages and other stuff. w3schools.com is also a great site for learning web development. All of these sites are free, they just have a minimal fee for a certificate if you want. FreeCodeCamp gives certificate for free.

@vlad villanueva I know that web development is different. I was suggesting it as a starter. I would have suggested sololearn but she's on here so I assume she didn't make an account for nothing
