Is JavaScript still useful/ comparable to other languages?

Is JavaScript still a good, useful coding language to be fluent in in todayā€™s age? I am looking to create simple .io games in the distant future, will JavaScript work for this?

Most .io are made with js. Js has improved a lot and is one of the most useful languages nowadays...
