Python ā€“ Easy enough to learn for non-technical types like data scientists, machine learning researchers, and those in the financial industry. PHP ā€“ Easy enough to learn, but man, what a mess! C ā€“ Pretty simple language, sort of a portable assembler. Java ā€“ Yeah, itā€™s verbose, but itā€™s not that hard to learn. C# ā€“ Java on steroids. Ruby ā€“ Easy enough to get started, but it can get tough really quick. Perl ā€“ Known as a ā€œwrite onlyā€ language. JavaScript ā€“Ā This abortion of a languageĀ is a digital minefield for beginners. Haskell ā€“ The best and hardest way to learn functional programming. (Scheme is easier.) Swift ā€“ Big and complex. Itā€™s a lot like Scala. (See Scala.) Scala ā€“ Itā€™s not quite a write-only language, but itā€™s uncomfortably close. C++ ā€“ The biggest and most complex programming language on the planet. Is it any wonder that itā€™s the hardest to learn?

I donā€™t do impractical languages like Brainfuck, Logo, and Whitespace.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brainfuck Guess it's not the only "challenge" programming language , but for sure one of most popular.

@Anand krishna also , I don't agree about JS , it was super - fun and easy for the first time even as my first OOP. It became harder only like near real OOP stuff , basics was very simple and 'minefield' (if you're talking about some language "features" :D) is nothin' if you can simple check reference.
