Understanding Matrixes

Question

I have a hard time understanding matrixes, as it has not been properly explained to me yet. I understand that a matrix is some sort of data meant to represent something specific, but other than that, I’m a little clueless.

Since I am learning game development, it’s very important to me that I learn this! I would appreciate it if someone could explain it to me like I’m a toddler (lol), since drawn out explanations cause more confusion than clarity.

Also, what are some books on calculus and related topics?
