Can we point and use private member by pointer from outside class?

In object oriented programming, is it error free to handle the invoke of private members by pointer.

I've read a discussion about this topic long time ago. Too bad it was hard to find. IMO it is not error free, because it was not supposed to be done. When you go against the design, you go on your own ... Anyways, having mentioned pointer, I think Java can be excluded from the tags ☝
