Challenges: How to know how many xp I'll get?

I understand that the xp of a challenge have nothing to do with the level, but rather with how well the opponent wields this weapon compared to me. Unfortunately I don't get this information when I challenge people. Since I've played a lot of challenges, absurdly even many 16-level-players will only give me 1xp (and cost me a lot if I lose). I don't mind (actually enjoy) playing weaker opponents, too, but I'd like to at least know what I'm getting into beforehand. So is there a way to get this information, or how do other fighters deal with this?

I see a lot of 'old friends', that's right! I don't have the impression that it makes a difference, though. Sounds kind of cumbersome, too, having the app count your exposure to every single problem in the database and match it with the opponent's exposure hashmap every time.

I want to know this too, though I don't challenge people these days. Also, what exactly does it depend on? Your opponent's xp in the weapon of choice, or their win rate in it? Sololearn says it's a modified version of the Elo rating system, but that's about it.

There's basically a handful of people that still get me xp (thank you, guys, for even fighting with me!!!), but these people often give me large amounts if I win, like 30 up, with no middle ground. That makes me guess, the sheer number of fights you had must play a role (since these people are also active every day). Does this mean that they will remain as 'valuable' for me as long as they keep up the (quantitatively) good work? It's all in the dark...

No, I meant, the program selects the problems first, and then decide the xp gain/loss. But you're right, it's still too much work.

Right, number of fights could be an important variable too. The original Elo rating doesn't use it though. I once thought one may get fewer points if they have already seen most of the questions already in previous challenges. Active challengers often get repeating questions, right?
