Do I have to know Python to learn Ruby?

Hello there.It's Arin. I am a beginner at Ruby. I have heard that one has to know Python well in order to learn Ruby. Is that true? Do I really have to know Python really well to learn Ruby? Or will learning Python give me advantage in learning Ruby.
