How can I write a code in python to look up if an existing name is in a Microsoft sql server database column?

Python has a library for everything. You may have to install pyodbc via pip first. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/connect/python/pyodbc/step-3-proof-of-concept-connecting-to-sql-using-pyodbc?view=sql-server-ver16
