Hi, welcome to the community, I was a classic VB user, and used to learn VB.Net long time ago. Anyway, about which P/L to go, well, I think it depends on your future plans, if you are into web, go for html » html5 » CSS » JavaScript. Then move on to php for server-side programming. If you are into mobile, go for Java or Swift. I would ask you to also consider Kotlin if otherwise available here in Sololearn, but since it's a new language in development, resources for Kotlin is still minimum, unlike its predecessor Java. You might also continue your journey by learning sql, because either web or mobile, it is most likely that you will need data interaction. And yes of course there's C++, should you plan to go the hardcore, anything goes, way. Finally, language is a matter of choice, preference, or taste, after all it's you who's gonna write the code, try em', see which fits you best, and go for it, imo. Best,

@Gabriel, I meant hardware direct access, system internal, kernel space codes, and things like that.

Thanks for the insights guys! Actually, ive been looking for a programming language that will give me a good use of my current knowledge. Aside from VB.Net, i also know a little of html and maybe intermediate in SQL.. I'm thinking of starting with Java to go mobile. By the way, what do you mean by C++ being hardcore?
