Question

Hi would you be interested in joining an exclusive chat group here at Sololearn of highly motivated sololearners working on an open-source project?

If yes, would love to hear from you here or in my DM if you prefer.

We have been talking with some amazing sololearners from a long time about this project.
This a great opportunity to build a portfolio and see how professional software development happens. Please note, you don't have to be an expert to be a member as we all start somewhere but we prefer active contributors who can help with any way possible be it documentation, product design, promotion.

Checked the app, it looks great and feels smooth, nice!
(the screen width resize having the pen and cursor not be on the same point bug tho 😭)

And the infinitely scalable pen with ctrl scroll is like a black hole xd

We have been discussing on this opensource project from some time across multiple chat groups on sololearn and was waiting for a decent size contributors group.

Glad to say, now we have many active sololearners supporting this initiative.
We have multiple mentors in the group.

I shared this idea with John Wells sir.
We also have his blessings on this.
Side note: John wells Sir was going through a tough time recently and now slowly getting back on his good health. Please give him all our support 🙏 and well wishes.

- detailed strokes data structure to store designs,
- undo / redo stack implementation
- image drag an drop feature

But you know the basic essence of this tool can be implemented by just few lines of Javascript code as shown below

Here is the complete guideline how to fork the project and clone into your local computer. Complete the task and then add the modification file to the repo and request a merge request to the original project. If you facing any problem feel free to ask. The issues can be debugged! The goal here is to see how far we can take this opensource project.

One major theme here will be to experiment with latest browser offerings and not to use any other frontend libraries. We can build our own libraries for sure.
I feel, this creates a nice learning opportunity.

It would be great to have your feedback on the product experience and the product roadmap as well. Please recommend changes as you will and take lead on initiatives if your schedule allows.

There's a great opportunity to incorporate shape detection AI feature on the editor. I have it in the product roadmap as well. I was thinking of doing it from scratch using JS, that might be interesting. There's a very nice free code camp tutorial on this. This project would be a perfect opportunity to implement that AI feature.

You can use AI through prompt. There are lots of types of AI, depends on which one you choose. Better you can Google and get a more specific detail on that.

That's why I think this project is such an amazing candidate for building a powerful whiteboarding solution because the fundamentals of this tool are so simple.

Just a bunch of dots on click/touch positions.
next join those dots to create regular line
next create a data structure to store these lines as strokes

Just making sone final adjustments on the 6 months product roadmap sheet.
