It is possible to get a job as a fresher in python... It isn't going to pay a lot but development in data science and machine learning is popular. Unfortunately, if you are American, an incredible number of these jobs are either not available to you or, pay so little that they can really only be side hustles for extra money and to build your resume. Getting an actual Developer, junior software engineer position will require extensive skill in full stack at least.

Lesson 1.1 in Python for beginners says this: Want to build a slick website? Develop a video game? Or maybe create an artificial intelligence? Python’s got you covered, and then some. Python is a high-level programming language, with a ton of applications. It’s seriously flexible and accessible, which makes it popular with some of the world's biggest (and coolest) organizations–think Google, NASA, Disney...*whispers* even the CIA.

Stefanoo you named a lot of orgs but do you know what exactly they use python for ? Tbh I have rarely seen a company opting for python for their core application and use it mostly for some kind of support scripts. They often tend to use a much faster alternative.

Arsenic Yeah that's true python is often used as a support language in business. If a project is bigger and is more complex it's not uncommon to use more than one programming language. Python has its pros and cons. And your are right performance is not the strength of python. But it is definitely used in many different areas. Generally python can do what all(or the most) high-level language can do. Here are some fields where python can be used. https://www.futurelearn.com/info/blog/what-is-python-used-for

See you cant get a job just for python. You at least have work on some projects to show your skills and then you may first apply for a prive institution work on some more complex projects and then you can easily walk in to any where

definitely build a portfolio, first start off with a few easy solutions to sudoku or tower of hanoi, then move onto the ones with real world spin on them. Gui for a retail business with a database back end, something 'real world'

I would highly encourage you to specialize, like you can specialize in building web applications using Django or Flask, with beginner python knowledge you will be in a good position to learn this frameworks. You can also specialize in Data science, Machine learning, data analytics, desktop development, games development or even mobile development. With a good foundation in Python you can land a good job with a few months experience in your specialization. My thought.
