No GitHub is not like sololearn. Here is how it works.

There is a version control software which helps devlopers manage their projects like android app, school management system etc known as git. GitHub is a website which allows devlopers for all over the world to collaborate with other devlopers. Many other websites are like GitHub like Bit Basket etc but git hub is best.

You need to install GitHub desktop on your computer or visit GitHub.com to use GitHub. You create a repository which can be seen by others or by people who you want to see. A repository is a place where you upload your code. You can create your own repository share it with other or just keep it to you and your friends.
Software mods,games, applications etc are available on GitHub repositories.
