Please what are the core process to learning and understanding javascript

Question

Bosses please I start learning javascript few weeks ago but didn't know what to take serious for now but for now av gone through some of it bases like (if---and-----else, scoop, array, object, for loop, function and others) but hasn't master them.
For now am trying to learn how to read code online for form validation in javascript..... trying to learn various forms in which i can validate a form and I wish to move on after learning form validation, I want to learn slideshow and navigation menu bar.

I didn't know maybe this are the right things to firstly put in place, bosses online I will really love your guidance through and am wishing to learn a backup or server side script like php.
