Setting string.xml String to a java string

Now, this is my string.xml file: <resources> <string name="app_name">Number guessing game</string> <string name="hint1">Guess a whole number between 0 – 200</string> <string name="guess">Guess!</string> <string name="retry">Retry</string> <string name="alert"></string> </resources> Now I want to assign one of these to a string in the activity.java file. I was able to use the getString method but that only returned the string to the Java String. I am looking for a way to edit the string straight from java. Does anyone know how to do that/

Sorry I didnt get it! You mean you want to change the value of one of your string resources, programmatically?
