It would depend on what kind of AI, i don't think C# would be optimal but it's possible, for AI you probably want a language aimed for statistics such as Matlab, R or Phyton / C

Absolutely. The recommended though are roughly Python, java and Ruby (thx to the rails). But really, asking for permission or running along someone else's footprints did not build this community. :)

python seems to be trending for AI/machine learning at the moment, with examples and libraries available. Though I am sure you can try things in your favourite language to start with. and then move on to more appropriate techniques when you start hitting limitations.☺
