C has it own standarts (C90, C99, C11) just like C++99 and C++11. edit: my bad, c++98 is true, and yeah, there is c++11, and globally is used

There is no C++99 standard I know of. There's C++98 and C++03 (apart from the newer standards like C++11/14).
