👎Zero to Hero👍

How many people started off new to programming on SoloLearn and became strong, and relatively, proficient? Did you find yourself lost and confused, asking lots of questions, then eventually answering the questions of others? (We're always asking questions no matter what stage we're in, but you get what I mean.) Share your story! I'm sure it will inspire others as well.

I started using this app when I broke my leg. I am doing Computer Science in school and I had to stay home for some weeks. I wanted to learn what they were learning... But I got addicted to the app and programming and now I know more than the people at my school. It doesn't matter how good or bad you are... Determination and motivation matters! :)

@Gami That's an awesome story. Sorry to hear about your leg. However, that's fantastic that you picked up this app and managed to utilize it in your downtime. Thanks for sharing!

@Tusiime Innocent Bulb That's fascinating. So you came here for one language and it lead to learning more. The fact that you have a comparative understanding between them shows that you have definitely taken the time to get into them. Thanks for your post!

@Z3nn H3xx I see I see. That's an interesting story. So you stumbled onto here after history of experiencing many different mediums. I can agree, I jumped on SoloLearn after using the individual apps for each language, so I didn't really jump on here until a bit later. It imported my C++ stats and I went from there. Thanks for sharing your story. It's interesting to see the wide perspectives of people who've come into this community for various reasons.

It all started when using Scratch at high school during a thunderstorm on a motionless Monday. It had a simplistic style to it that was meant for kids but doubt it was going to be any difficult. Though felt that a kid could beat me into any programming challenge or create a more sensible game. At first, I didn't know what I was doing or what this was to begin with. My teacher gave me precise directs and courses to follow. I learned all that I could, actually was beginning to get ahead of my classmates and began finding other sources after having a strong interest in game development, app, web pages, etc. It was kinda odd for me because it just happened all of the sudden. Before knowing about Sololearn, I used Udacity, Codecademy, W3Schools, Code School, you get the idea. After awhile, I still wanted to keep what I had and find something new involving an all-in-one with tutorials, forums, courses, challengers, a multitude of programming/markup/style languages, and develop code as my own to share. Sololearn ironically has all of those kinds of features (I don't recall when I joined. I only gotten more distracted by the sheer number of information that was presented by there enlightening website). And so, here I am. Yep...

I came here to demystify C++ since I had done C and Java at school. I still find C++ funny as compared to Java 😂 I completed the content here and moved on to take an adventure in what else SoloLearn had to offer. I'm now learning Python, Swift, Ruby, PHP, Javascript, CSS and about to start C#. Python and Ruby are boring me so far 😔. I keep ignoring them in favour of Swift and Web programs.
