You could probably also use "bird." Where do you see "word?" It's hard to speculate without seeing what you're talking about, but from the sounds of it, it does sound like a variable. If you can give me more information, the actual example or what you're reading, and possibly even what you're using, then I can better answer you.

Do you mean this example? https://www.sololearn.com/learn/JUMP_LINK__&&__Python__&&__JUMP_LINK/2435/?ref=app "words" is just a name for the list. It could also be "myList" or whatever.
