5 downvotes for this question? Haters gonna hate? This question is not worth upvotes but I gave one 'cause it doesn't deserve so many downvotes too, don't you think so? (You won't insult a child for asking what is semicolon, or non-English speaking person for asking what is an indentation, do you? I think sometimes that it's worth to make separate sections in Q/A for different spoken languages. Because there is no way such [easy and not always about coding exactly] question will disappear completely, at least until Sololearn is for beginners mostly and it's international)

@nikhil My dictionaries do not tell me that the word "parenthesis" can be used for any other brackets (braces, angle brackets). Only round brackets...

() - I learned yesterday that many other places call it round brackets and square brackets. However, when you hear us say parentheses, we're referring to round brackets.
