im not an expert, or even an adept in backend, as I havent tried it yet. but python django would be a good for something big and expandable, to my knowledge. if your site is small then python flask will be simpler. I urge you to look up more informed opinions on the matter as there are a lot of backends you can choose. php being the most widely used, for example. perhaps you could look into what companies are using for backend, like facebooks edited version of php, or reddit using python, etc

depends. if there are other languages you know, try and see if you can use them to make a backend. if you dont know a fast prototyping scripting language like python, it could be worth looking into ruby. however it will have less resources to learn for beginners. ruby I think is falling out of style a little bit, but who cares about fashion trends?

ruby is good for making the backend of a website fast. however I hear it has a lack of control. outside of websites, ruby acts as a better version of python, with less resources and libraries.
