You can't just say "IT Specialist". What layer? And what's this have to do with coding?

Im not a programmer. Programming is a hobby. I'm a cable guy. One of the many people who make the physical connections of the internet. I run low voltage wire through buildings and terminate cable. I use things like crimpers for rj45 and coaxial cable, i use my linemen shears to cut and strip wire, i use punchdown tools when needed, and i work with telephone lines as well so a buttset also comes in handy.

There are people who work with each and every layer in the osi model. From the app side, to the metal (or fiber) to metal side. All of them work together to bring you the internet and things that you see on it. What may help you is looking through an overview and really understanding how the internet works first.

Slick for example, you are a programmer. What is included in your daily work kit? It can be tools, programs or something else. It is clear that the analyst or tester will have a different set
