By surrendering all your assets to @ValentinHacker and begging him to teach you.

I suggest you start with simple network-packet-sniffing (Wireshark) to see how servers work and discover their vulnerabilities, when you become a master you'll be able to do full server reconnaissance and pentesting. 'Till then learn how to communicate with servers with a programming language and make bots...

ifl and irajjs, your points are well-taken. We need more people however to study pentesting and cybersecurity in the ways HatsyRei and Valentin suggest in order to learn to protect large networks and infrastructure. If you like programming, which is one reason people are here, I hope you will consider learning about and working in the cyber field, where there are great needs and opportunities. You can start by learning about ssh and remote access. Maybe one day there will be a cyber course here that will introduce people to basic concepts of cybersecurity and ethical hacking. If you can find or download them the books "Raspberry Pi Cookbook" (Monk) and "Raspberry Pi for Secret Agents" have some basic introductions to remote access. The RPi itself $35 is in my opinion very worth buying to learn to work in Linux (command line) etc.

ifl agree, thank you! maybe @rakshit gupta can edit his excellent question to replace the word "hacking" with "cyber" or "cybersecurity" using the edit option provided.

@joe. yes agreed. but then the question from @rakshit gupta should be better worded "how do i learn about cybersecurity?" This would convey the right message (to me at least!) â˜ș

@Milotte: absolutely and we all need people like you. My initial comments only stems from the ambiguity of the question. A correction or post from @Rakshit Gupta removing this ambiguity would certainly be welcome :-)

@Louis I realize what you're looking to convey so gently...it depends on where you live. That salary is entry-level in some areas (like where I am).

Why would one want to learn "hacking" ? When one could learn programming and IT and get a respectable and well paid job instead?

You must! have a very good reason first .. hacking is like getting a gun to deal with others .. there will be consequences
