I personally learnt coding by practising and materialising my ideas, best thing to do is to study codes that your peers make aswell - they can teach you new tricks!
Try learning a language and experiment with it on a project for start...

Just start! It's a good idea however that you choose beginner-friendly language like python as a start, so you don't give up as quickly as you began.
