ionic is a framework and android studio is an IDE which stands for Integrated Development Environment which is merely a tool to make the actually programming in a language like Java, C++, Python, etc. easier. Java is used a lot in mobile app development so would probably be a good language to learn if you plan on following your endeavor, as for ionic i am unfamiliar with it so, i cant comment much on its accessibility
