[OFF-TOPIC] practical info for new web devs

I just got into the industry and discovered I still needed to learn more to reach a competent/adequate level. Here are some of the things that were expected of me, and things I have acquired or used in the last couple of months: - powershell - more complex git actions: merge, stash, fetch pull and rebase - sourcetree - fiddler - selenium - XPath and css selectors - unit testing - chrome, firefox and IE webdrivers - setting up visual studio plugins - lambda expressions - extension methods - debug to understand flow - ssh keys - setting up databases - config files - experience using a cms - react-native - expo - android studio - xcode - webpack - .Net - macros - graphQL - Apollo - node packages - NuGet packages - ant - gwt

But more important than all of that is getting good at finding the right answers to problems on google and improving problem solving abilities. Think first, write code later!

After working in the industry for a year i thought id update the list .Net is good to have as well as a CMS certification under your belt. My company uses sitecore, umbraco, kentico and wordpress mainly. Having one of those makes you a lot more employable. Working with databases is also important, if you have experience with databases, coding languages and CMS, you can start thinking about projects as a whole.
