Python has surpassed Java as the top language used to introduce U.S. students to programming and computer science, according to a recent survey posted by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM).

Depends of what you mean by "best". I would say Java for its professionnal syntax, clarity, maturity and various implementations. However if you want to do short and/ or scientificly based codes Python is a better choice, and even if it's far to be fully dynamic and readable for my canons it seems to be the simplest choice.
