Dom Harris, it’s amazing at making games. Really helps a lot. I’m using it myself, and find it very useful. It’s also free as long as you make less than $100,000 a year on your games.

Visual Studio 2017 Community Edition. It takes a while to set up, but it's worth it. You'll be able to make desktop, mobile, console and Web apps.
